Use the Exposure Map
The Exposure Map turns captured browser activity into a connected graph. Use it when a provider or resource is unfamiliar, when you need to learn what introduced it, or when a list view does not explain the complete loading path.
What the map represents
Use the following table to understand how each area supports the task.

Open and orient the map

Open Exposure Map
Select Exposure Map in the left navigation. Confirm the project shown in the project selector before interpreting the graph.

Choose a useful grouping
Use the grouping control to organize a dense graph—for example, by provider. Grouping changes the presentation of the same captured relationships; it does not create or remove observations.

Pan and zoom
Drag the canvas to move through the graph and zoom until node labels are readable. Use the website node as the starting point when you want to understand the full loading chain.
Trace a provider or resource

Find the item
Search for the provider, resource, host, or capability you want to investigate. If you arrived from another view, use the exact name shown in that record.

Select its node
Select the node to focus its connected paths. The highlighted relationships help separate relevant upstream and downstream connections from the rest of the graph.

Follow the path upstream
Trace toward the website to identify what introduced the selected item. A provider or resource between the website and your selected node indicates an observed indirect relationship.

Follow the path downstream
Trace outward to see related resources, network destinations, and browser capabilities. Open the corresponding provider or resource detail when you need timestamps, performance, status, or additional context.

Record the relationship
Write the path as a short chain, such as website → provider → resource → destination. Include the project, affected journey, and observation time.
Common questions
Why is an expected resource missing?
Confirm that SiteWall loaded on the page and that your test triggered the feature, consent state, or user state that loads the resource. Also verify the selected project and observation period.
Why does the graph look crowded?
Start with search, apply a useful grouping, and select one node. The focused relationships are more useful than attempting to interpret every visible node at once.
Does an edge mean one resource always loads another?
It means SiteWall observed that relationship in captured activity. Compare sessions and additional journeys before treating it as universal behavior.
Exposure Map node types
Exposure Map nodes represent the monitored root, provider groups, individual resources, browser APIs, global variables, and external network destinations. Shape, label, grouping, and selection state help distinguish node roles; the linked detail record provides the authoritative context.
Interpret relationships
A connection in the Exposure Map means SiteWall recorded a relationship in the available data—for example, a page loading a resource or a resource using a browser API. Follow the edge to understand the chain, then confirm it in the provider, resource, or session record before drawing a conclusion.
Group resources by provider
Use provider grouping in the Exposure Map to collapse related resources under the service associated with them. This reduces visual density while preserving the path from the root site through a provider to its resources, capabilities, and destinations.
