Set the primary language, browser-language detection, excluded languages, and the manual selector.

Last reviewed September 12, 2026

CookieWall currently includes English, French, German, and Spanish consent copy. The primary language is the fallback for unsupported or excluded browser languages.

Choose language behavior

  1. 1.

    Select a primary language

Use the language appropriate for your default audience and disclosures.

  2. 2.

    Choose automatic detection

When enabled, CookieWall uses the browser language when that language is supported and not excluded.

  3. 3.

    Exclude unsupported experiences

Excluded languages fall back to the primary language. The primary language itself cannot be excluded.

  4. 4.

    Decide whether visitors can switch

Enable the language selector when a visitor should be able to override automatic detection.

  5. 5.

    Review every translation

Confirm the supplied wording, privacy-policy reference, category descriptions, and terminology match your organization’s notices.
